In fact, according to the Pew Research Center, the share of Muslims in the global population in 2010 was 23.9 percent, which has increased to 25.6 percent in 2020. At the same time, the number of Hindus has also increased around the world, but this increase has been almost equal to global population growth.
The population of Hindus in 2010 was around 1.1 billion, which increased to about 1.2 billion in 2020. That is, there is an increase of 12 percent. Globally, in 2020, the Hindus’ population stood at 14.9 percent, which was 15 percent in 2010.

The Hindus’ population in India was 79 percent in 2020, which was 80 percent in 2010. On the other hand, Christianity is still the largest religious group in the world. But in the global population, its share declined from 30.6 percent of 2010 to 28.8 percent in 2020.

A major reason for this decline is to leave a large number of religion by Christians. Although the fertility rate of Christians is good, their number did not increase as expected due to conversion. In addition, Buddhism is the only major religion that decreased in 2020 compared to 2010.
The report also said that the number of people without any religious identity is increasing rapidly on the other side of Muslims. Between 2010 and 2020, the group increased by 27 million people and their number reached 1.9 billion. Their stake in global population increased to 24.2 percent in 2020, which was 23.3 percent in 2010.
Also, the report also found that Muslims and Hindus are religions where the rate of conversion is the lowest. That is, very few people leave or adopt this religion. Talking about children, in 2010, children below 15 years of age, 35 percent of Muslims and 31 percent were Hindus worldwide. From this, it can also be estimated that the population of these religions may increase further in the future.
