Exclusive! Why did actor Ranjeet walk out of Ajay Devgn’s Son of Sardaar 2?

New Delhi: Veteran actor Ranjeet, who is popularly known as Goli in Bollywood, reveals why he opted out of Son of Sardar 2. Another villain of the 70s, Sharat Saxena, has replaced him in the film that releases this Friday.

When asked why he turned down the Ajay Devgn offer, the actor said, “Yes, it was offered to me. Everything was finalised including my role, remuneration, getup, but later I didn’t like one small issue and decently opted out on a good note without any ill feelings. I told them it was my loss.”

Ranjeet and Ajay Devgn have worked together in films like Hulchul and Deewangee.

Son of Sardar 2 also had two other replacements. Ravi Kishan replaced Sanjay Dutt, who faced visa issues, and Devgn, who had offered another role, requested Ravi Kishan to take that role.

Sanjay Mishra replaced Vijay Raaz after the latter had a fallout with the production, who removed him from the project over misconduct and unreasonable demands.

Son of Sardar 2 is a franchise and returns after 13 years. It is directed by Vijay Arora and has Mrunal Thakur, Deepak Dobriyal, and Kubra Sait in it.
