Exclusive! Smilie Suri says Ahaan Panday’s character resonates with Mohit Suri

In an exclusive interview with News9 Live, Mohit Suri’s sister Smilie Surie said that Ahaan Pandey’s character in the movie totally resonates with his brother and director Mohit Suri. She feels that her brother has finally made a movie that has himself in every moment, every song, every character, and every frame. Here’s an excerpt of the conversation with Smilie Suri.

She said, ”Ahaan’s character is fully Mohit! Aneet is also a total of all the women in Mohit’s life! I don’t think Mohit got to play his emotions and go this far! While he stirred everyone with Aashiqui 2 and Awarapan, and even Kalyug. He wasn’t going all guns blazing with Saiyaara, he has not only helped the audience relive their love for theatre, but he has stirred people in their seats by making them feel or connect to that part of their life or love that they had shut out! He had lived his life, himself through Saiyaraa.’’

She continued,” He has proved that his vision for cinema and his music and his love for love is far greater and has only grown from his first film Zeher to now. Mohit is someone who knows and feels heartbreak even for others, maybe it came from the fact that he lost his mom at a very young age on 18th July! Maybe it comes from the fact that he is a very passionate filmmaker and person! I also feel in the bigger picture, it all worked out well for him, call it karmic justice or divine timing, but the success of Saiyaara goes to the fabulous team who stood by him and believed in him!

Yashraj, Aditya Chopra, Sankalp, his writer, all his musicians, Sumana, his producer, casting director Shanoo Sharma, and of course Aneet Padda and Ahaan Pandey. Ahaan’s father, Chikki Panday, was very close to my father, Daksh Suri, despite the age gap! Today, history repeats itself with Mohit mentoring Ahaan and life coming back full circle.’’
