EXCLUSIVE: Siddhant Chaturvedi and Tripti Dimri talk life-changing films while prompting ‘Dhadak 2’

New Delhi: Currently promoting their upcoming film Dhadak 2, the film’s stars Siddhant Chaturvedi and Tripti Dimri in a conversation with News9live talked about not just their upcoming film but other interesting aspects as well.

When asked about the movies and performances that have had long-lasting impressions and influences on them, both the actors had interesting takes.

Siddhant named Madness in the Desert, which shows the making of the film Lagaan as something which had a big influence on him. He talked about how he has seen Lagaan many times. But when “I saw Madness in the Desert and saw the process of making the film and how against all odds, Aamir, at that time in 2000 or 1999, where everybody said no to portray a dhoti clad actor with a story of the village made it work. If you haven’t seen it you must watch it. It’s so inspiring. I’m getting goosebumps even now.”

He talked about how the film shows the crew sitting at night and practising songs. On how they had built a whole village there and the unit would travel in a bus for the shoot. He further added, “I felt if I didn’t go to this level for my art and my craft … Phir maine kya hi kiya.”

Similarly, Tripti Dimri also had an interesting take of her own. She talked about Jaya Bhaduri’s Guddi as being extremely influential for her. She said, “It has that scene when she goes on set and Dharmendra says that that light used to light up a face at one time, and look now it is lying on the floor eating dust, that gave me a different perspective. The thing I said to you everything will fade away one day only the memories and experience will stay that thought came to me after watching that scene in Guddi.”

She further added, “There is also a scene in the film when an old actor who was once a very big star and now doesn’t get even the basic respect he deserves. That scene teaches you a lot of things. It’s a reality check. That changed a lot for me.”
