Rajpal Yadav on working with Akshay Kumar
“From the first day of shooting with him on Mujhse Shaadi Karogi to the present day, I’ve seen Akshay Kumar becoming more alive while shooting or otherwise. He’s senior to me and a legendary hero. When I was introduced to Akshay Kumar in film city, we had to do some fighting. He’s 6 feet tall and I’m 5 feet 2.5 inches. Despite that the fight was done safely. He’s very disciplined. He’s very well-versed with different types of comedy. The rapport built with him on Mujhse Shaadi Karogi continues even today,” he said.

Over the years, the duo has shared screen space in several successful films that have become favourites among Bollywood comedy fans. One of their most memorable collaborations came in Bhool Bhulaiyaa, where Rajpal played the eccentric Chhote Pandit. The famous “paani” scene between the two actors remains widely discussed even today.
They also teamed up in Phir Hera Pheri, where Rajpal portrayed the quirky gangster Pappu. The film’s slapstick humour and chaotic storyline helped cement the duo’s reputation for impeccable comic timing.
Another popular project was Bhagam Bhag, where the actors were part of a theatre troupe caught in a murder mystery. Rajpal also appeared alongside Akshay in films such as Garam Masala, Waqt: The Race Against Time, De Dana Dan, Khatta Meetha, and Action Replayy.
Fans will soon see the beloved pair reunite in Bhooth Bangla, directed by Priyadarshan, known for his iconic Bollywood comedies. The upcoming film marks another collaboration between Akshay and Priyadarshan, whose past projects together have delivered several box office hits.
