New Delhi: Actor Rajat Bedi recently opened up about an emotional encounter with veteran filmmaker Rajkumar Kohli, revealing that the director, known for his iconic multi-starrer films, was struggling with memory loss.
Rajat, 55, had shared screen space with Armaan Kohli in Jaani Dushman: Ek Anokhi Kahani, and recentky recalled meeting Rajkumar Kohli years later, only to realise that the filmmaker no longer remembered him.

In a heartfelt revelation to TV9, Rajat shared, “I asked Raj ji, ‘Did you recognise me?’ He looked at me and asked if I was Armaan’s friend. I said yes, but I have also done a film with him. He asked, ‘Which one, beta?’ I said, ‘Raj ji, I have done Jaani Dushman with you.’ He was just staring at me. He said, ‘You were with Sunil Dutt and the others?’ He had completely forgotten. I didn’t know what to say to him, my heart sank. He was losing his memory.”
The actor’s voice reportedly broke as he recounted the moment. Having admired Raj Kumar Kohli for years, Rajat expressed his sadness at seeing the once-vibrant filmmaker fade into forgetfulness. Rajkumar Kohli, celebrated for helming ensemble hits like Nagin and Jaani Dushman, had worked with some of the biggest names in Hindi cinema.
Rajat Bedi, who has recently returned to the screen with The Bads of Bollywood, reflected on his earlier days in the industry and his bond with the Kohli family. When asked about his former co-star Armaan Kohli, Rajat’s response was equally poignant. “I don’t know. Somewhere… he’s lost Armaan. What a beautiful family, though,” he said.
