Exclusive! Mukesh Khanna wants Ranveer Singh to play ‘Kilvish’ in Shaktimaan

New Delhi: Mukesh Khanna wants Ranveer Singh to play Kilvish’s character in the remake of Shaktimaan. The actor disclosed it at the song launch from his album Krantikari Paheli event held on Tuesday evening saying that although he is bound by the studio he said that Ranveer Singh spent about three hours with him talking to him about Shaktimaan but wasn’t able to convince him. Khanna said, “I told him you take the role of Kilvish as he played Allaudin Khilji and would suit  the character which was played by Surendra Pal in Shaktimaan.”

Khanna explains, “Shaktimaan has to have innocence in his eyes and no mischief like Ranveer is over enthusiastic and over energetic but does not suit Shaktimaan role. I told him you can take up my other show Aryaaman. I wouldn’t mind but not Shaktimaan. A lot of people tried convincing me by telling him how good he was in Gully Boy and Dhurandhar trailer also but doesn’t work for me.”

Comments on Animal and Adipurush

Mukesh Khanna couldn’t resist but reignite the Animal controversy. The actor said that films like Animal may have earned Rs 500 crore but such films send out the wrong message to the youth and such films should be stopped from being made. He even questioned the Censor Board for clearing a film like Adipurush which showed Lord Hanuman as a tapori and Lord Ram with a moustache. He said, “I had protested when Ekta Kapoor made Mahabharat she  almost ruined the epic.”

Make Patriotic films

Mukesh Khanna has started a song series on unsung revolutionaries of India who fought for the freedom movement of the country. He said, “There are nearly 7000 such revolutionaries and through my album I am going to create awareness amongst the youngsters about the great revolutionaries.”

He added, “Why dont they make films on such revolutionaries like Turram Khan instead they are making Pathaan and frankly speaking I want all Manoj Kumar kind of films to comeback.”
