Exclusive! Kannappa Box Office prediction Day 1: Vishnu Manchu film likely to mint Rs 10 crore

New Delhi: Vishnu Manchu, Prabhas and Akshay Kumar-starrer Kannappa has finally released in theatres amid much fanfare. The multilingual mythological actioner, directed by Mukesh Kumar Singh and backed by Mohan Babu, is expected to open to a decent collection at the box office. With cameos of Prabhas as Rudra, Akshay Kumar as Lord Shiva, and Mohanlal as Kirata, the stakes are quite high.

The movie revolves around the legend of Kannappa, also known as Kannappa Nayanar, a hunter whose devotion to Lord Shiva led him to sacrifice both his eyes after he found Shiva Linga bleeding. Impressed with his selfless devotion, Lord Shiva restored both his eyes and granted him moksha.

Kannappa Box Office prediction

In an exclusive conversation with News9 Digital, trade analyst Ramesh Bala opined over Vishnu Manchu-starrer Kannappa and said that the film is expected to collect Rs 10 crore to Rs 15 crore in India and Rs 20 crore to Rs 25 crore worldwide.

Speaking to us, he said, “Day one numbers, I’m expecting probably in India close to Rs 10 crore to Rs 15 crore. And probably worldwide, around Rs 20 crore to Rs 25 crore. The actors are playing only cameos, not like extended cameos. In a way, it’s very easy, because we don’t have any parallels where actors from different industries are doing extended cameos. And in some of the earlier movies, the hero will be a big star. But here, Vishnu Manju is not a big star, per se. So, it is kind of a medium in terms of the pan-India movie. But the way it is set up is such that it’s not like a big, like Prabhas leading or Yash, kind of a Bollywood movie or something. It is a few levels down, probably because the movie has stars, but they’re all extended cameos.”
