New Delhi: Contrary to the reports, actor-singer Diljit Dosanjh is still a part of the highly anticipated movie, Border 2. A source close to the development confirmed with News9 Digital that the reports about the actor’s replacement in the movie are “not true”. Producer Bhushan Kumar has also confirmed with us that the movie’s second schedule will begin from July 2.
A source told us, “The news about his replacement is not true, Diljit is part of Border 2 and we have already shot 50 per cent of the film. The announcement about his casting was made almost 9 months back.”
With the ongoing controversy regarding the release of Diljit Dosanjh’s Punjabi film Sardaarji 3 internationally, including releasing it in Pakistan starring the Pakistani actress Hania Aamir, the FWICE wants all producers, including Border 2 producer Bhushan Kumar, to ban Diljit from working in India due to him not respecting Indian sentiments and working with Pakistani actors.
However, taking the above into account, Bhushan Kumar and Nishi Dutta, the producers of Border 2, starring Sunny Deol, Varun Dhawan, Diljit Dosanjh, Ahan Shetty, and Sonam Bajwa, directed by Anurag Singh, have decided to go ahead and continue shooting their film with Diljit Dosanjh from next week, July 2.
The producers have taken all things into account, including that they have already shot 60% of the film, and they aren’t disrespecting any Indian sentiments in their film, and their film is a patriotic Indian war film; they feel it’s best to continue shooting.
Further, it is understood that like cricket matches between India and Pakistan which happen in foreign countries, even the Olympics, where Neeraj Chopra competes with Pakistani athletes, that as long as Diljit’s Punjabi film Sardaarji 3 doesn’t release in theatres or on any platform in India, then nothing wrong has been done by releasing it internationally, and it’s perfectly ok to continue working with Diljit.
