Star Players Join ILT20
The Dubai International League T20 is set to enhance its batting lineup with the addition of prominent T20 players Finn Allen, David Miller, and Heinrich Klaasen.
These athletes have been signed as Pre-Auction Signings for the Abu Dhabi Knight Riders and Gulf Giants ahead of the league’s fifth season. This will mark the first appearance for Allen, Miller, and Klaasen in the ILT20, while Australian all-rounder Marcus Stoinis returns to the tournament after a three-year hiatus.
Franchise Retentions and Returning Stars
Several notable players are returning to their respective franchises from Season 4, including Jason Holder and Sunil Narine (Abu Dhabi Knight Riders), Shimron Hetmyer (Desert Vipers), and Rovman Powell (Dubai Capitals). The defending champions, Desert Vipers, have also retained Andries Gous and Dan Lawrence, while the Gulf Giants welcome back Azmatullah Omarzai and Blessing Muzarabani.
Auction and Squad Formation
On August 3, the six franchises of the DP World ILT20 completed the Pre-Auction Signing process for foreign players, with each team allowed four signings. The final squad will consist of 18 to 23 players, including local talents from the UAE, Kuwait, and Saudi Arabia, with the Player Auction scheduled for October 1, 2026, in Dubai. Teams will also have the opportunity to add one Wildcard signing post-auction.

Finn Allen
New Zealand’s Finn Allen is recognized as a formidable opener in T20 cricket, having scored a remarkable 33-ball century during the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026 semi-final against South Africa. With 1663 runs in 62 T20I matches at an impressive strike rate of 170.73, he is a player to watch.
David Miller
A veteran middle-order batsman, David Miller has amassed 2804 T20I runs at an average of 33.78 over 140 matches for South Africa, showcasing his experience and skill.
Heinrich Klaasen
With 1000 runs in 58 T20I matches, wicketkeeper-batter Heinrich Klaasen is known for his powerful hitting, particularly against spin bowlers, making him a valuable asset in the T20 format.
Marcus Stoinis
An ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2021 champion, Stoinis has been a key player for Australia, scoring 1416 runs in 87 T20Is and taking 53 wickets, demonstrating his all-round capabilities.
Additional Player Movements
The Pre-Auction Signings also feature Matthew Tromp from the USA, Mujeeb-ur-Rahman from Afghanistan, and several others, enhancing the competitive landscape of the tournament.
