In Rohtas, RJD accused of bringing EVM to the counting centre. The District Magistrate rejected this and said that there were empty steel boxes in the truck. This was confirmed by investigation in front of the candidates and an appeal was made not to spread rumours.
Rohtas: Rohtas District Magistrate Udita Singh on Thursday rejected RJD’s claim that the administration was secretly taking EVMs inside the counting center without any information. He said- There were actually empty steel boxes in the truck. Late on Wednesday night, RJD workers and supporters gathered outside the Vajra Griha counting center in the Takiya Market Committee premises of Sasaram assembly constituency. They were protesting and seeking clarification on the matter from Bihar Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) Vinod Singh Gunjiyal and the Election Commission of India (ECI).
DM Udita Singh said- The truck was inspected in the presence of many candidates and their supporters. All the boxes in the truck were found empty. Yesterday evening we got information that a truck loaded with EVMs had entered Takiya Market Committee. After receiving information, we found that a truck had arrived at the market committee at 7:59 pm and was properly checked by the police; His entry was recorded in the logbook. It was written in the entry that the truck was full of empty boxes.
He said, “A large number of candidates, their authorized people and their supporters were present there. The truck was opened in front of all of them, and several steel boxes were found in it. Every box was taken out, and all the boxes were found empty. After checking the entire truck, all the boxes were loaded back into the same truck. The District Magistrate appealed not to spread rumors before the counting of votes on November 14. It became clear to all the candidates present that the truck carrying EVMs in the premises was empty. The information about infiltration was false and such rumors should not be spread as the situation is very sensitive.
