Mumbai: As ‘Dhurandhar’ continues to command attention at the box office and spark conversations well beyond cinema halls, the impact of the film is being felt not only among audiences but also within the acting community. Actor Sakshi Trivedi, who has worked across films, television, web series and advertising, says the Ranveer Singh-starrer has left her both “impressed” and “inspired.”
In an exclusive interaction with News9, Sakshi described ‘Dhurandhar’ as a “masterpiece”, singling out the performances as a learning experience for actors like herself. “When you watch films like this, you realise how much there is still to learn. Such legendary performances raise the bar for everyone,” she said.
‘The energy of the film is impeccable’: Sakshi Trivedi
Sakshi, who has appeared in popular television shows including Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah, Anupamaa, and Jaanaki among others has also featured in big-banner films such as Chhaava, Bastar and Hi Nanna. Her web series credits include Pyramid, while her advertising portfolio span brands like Tata Salt, Starbucks, Vim Liquid and others.
Speaking about ‘Dhurandhar,’ she praised the entire ensemble cast, naming Ranveer Singh, Akshaye Khanna, Sanjay Dutt and Arjun Rampal among those who stood out. “The energy of the film is impeccable,” she said. “Every actor brings something powerful to the screen, but Akshaye Khanna’s character, Rehman Dakait, stayed with me the most. There is so much depth and restraint in that performance.”

‘Films like these motivates, inspires and keeps you going’
Reflecting on her own journey, Sakshi noted that she has worked extensively in print campaigns, digital projects and television commercials, including a Tata Salt advertisement alongside Kajol and a Starbucks campaign with designer Manish Malhotra. She has also walked the ramp at major modelling events such as Miss India and Miss Diva. Yet, she believes films like Dhurandhar serve as a reminder of why constant growth matters.

“You may have experience across mediums, but cinema like this motivates you to do so much more as an actor,” she said. “It inspires you to work harder, keep learning and aim to reach the masses with stories that carry a message. There is also a strong sense of patriotism that comes through, which adds another layer of purpose.”
Sakshi reserved special praise for director Aditya Dhar, calling him a filmmaker who elevates everyone involved. “Aditya Dhar is a celebrated director for a reason. He does not just direct a film, he brings out the best in his actors and the entire crew. That kind of leadership shows on screen.”
Dhurandhar’s massive performance at global box-office
At the box office, Dhurandhar appears to be on a winning trajectory. The film is reportedly close to surpassing the lifetime collection of Dhar’s debut Uri: The Surgical Strike, which starred Vicky Kaushal. It has already overtaken Ranveer Singh’s second-highest grosser, Simmba, which earned Rs 240 crore during its 2018 theatrical run. According to industry tracker Sacnilk, Dhurandhar had earned Rs 239.25 crore in its first eight days, based on early estimates, while the producers have claimed total collections of Rs 252.7 crore over the same period.
Despite being surrounded by controversies before and after its release, the film has found steady footing in theatres across the country. For actors like Sakshi Trivedi, however, its true value lies beyond numbers. “These are the films that remind you why you chose to be an actor in the first place,” she said.
