The evening air in Delhi is more polluted than the morning air. This claim has been made in a study.Netaji Subhas University of Tchnology and AARC Engineers & Consultants India According to this five-year study, the amount of PM2.5 and PM10 particles in the air is much higher in the evening as compared to the morning. This means that the consumption of toxic particles in the lungs is highest during the evening journey. This is not just a temporary problem, but can have a serious impact on the lungs in the long run.
Studies show that in cities like Delhi, even normal daily routine can become a threat to health. Let us know what are the reasons behind this and which people are more affected.
Why is evening traveling affecting the lungs?
It has been said in the study that the air quality is worst in the evening. Traffic jams, smoke and dust from vehicles and factories together increase the toxic particles in the air. Apart from this, in certain weather conditions such as less wind and low temperature, these particles reach closer and enter the body through breath.
Therefore, there is more pollution reaching the lungs during evening journey. This is the reason why people traveling in the evening have a direct and rapid impact on the lungs. Due to continuous such exposure, the risk of difficulty in breathing, cough and other lung problems increases.
Who is more at risk from evening travel?
People traveling in the evening are most affected. Especially those who travel in motor vehicle, bus or auto. The elderly, children and pregnant women are most sensitive at this time because their immunity and lung capacity are weak. People with pre-existing lung or heart disease are also at higher risk. At the same time, for people who pass through factories or busy commercial areas, the impact of pollution is greater.
