Air becomes poisonous, AQI increases concern
Air pollution amidst cold and fog has made the situation more serious. According to the data recorded on Wednesday morning, AQI in Gorakhpur reached 466, which falls in the extremely dangerous category. AQI was recorded at 390 in Varanasi, 450 in Kushinagar and 157 in Deoria. Experts say that in such a situation, children, elderly people and people suffering from respiratory diseases should be extra cautious.
In view of this dual outbreak of weather and pollution, health experts have advised people to avoid going out unnecessarily, use masks and take special precautions in the morning and evening. The coming few days may prove to be challenging for Eastern UP.
