Estonia Defeats Luxembourg 1-0 in UEFA Nations League Match

 Estonia achieved a narrow 1-0  Luxembourg in a  match held at the A. Le Coq Arena in Tallinn.

This win propelled Estonia to second place in Group L, bringing their points total to five from three matches. The only goal of the match was scored by Rasmus Piiroja.

Entering the game undefeated, Estonia had previously drawn 1-1 with Iceland and played to a goalless draw against Bulgaria. Luxembourg, on the other hand, had garnered three points from their first two matches.

Estonia’s next challenge will be against group leaders Iceland on Tuesday in Tallinn. Following that match, they will travel to Luxembourg on November 13 and face Bulgaria at home on November 16 to complete the league phase.

The group winner will earn direct promotion to League B, while the runner-up will enter the promotion playoffs. With their current form, Estonia has a solid chance of moving up from League C.

In other news from the tournament, Switzerland remains the only team in League B with nine points after defeating Slovenia. An own goal from Eric Janja and a finish from Dan Ndoye secured a 2-1 victory for Switzerland.

Additionally, Scotland celebrated their first win under coach Sebastian Pocognoli, with Kieron Bowie scoring the opener in a 2-0 victory over North Macedonia, marking Andy Robertson’s 100th cap.

Lio Valta is among the joint top scorers in the 2026/27  , having scored four goals, including both in Finland’s 2-1 home win against Albania.
