Escorts Kubota Limited (EKL) reported a 22% year-on-year increase in tractor sales for July 2026, while its construction equipment business recorded a 49.2% rise in volumes during the month.
The company’s Agri Machinery Business sold 8,731 tractors in July, up from 7,154 units in the corresponding month last year. Domestic tractor sales increased 23.7% to 8,194 units, while exports edged up 1.3% to 537 units.
Escorts Kubota said improved rainfall during July reduced the cumulative rainfall deficit to around 14-15%, while kharif sowing gathered pace, supporting demand across wholesale and retail channels. The company, however, said that monsoon progress and kharif crop, input cost pressures, a delayed festive season in the third quarter, and a high base in the coming months remain factors to monitor.
For the April-July period of FY27, the company sold 45,593 tractors, an increase of 20.8% over 37,735 units in the same period last year. Domestic sales rose 23.1% to 43,651 units, while exports declined 14.2% to 1,942 units.
The Construction Equipment Business sold 534 machines in July, compared with 358 units a year earlier. Escorts Kubota attributed the growth to a lower base following the implementation of BSV emission norms in the corresponding period last year, along with sustained infrastructure activity, continued government capital expenditure, a robust project pipeline and increasing export opportunities.
Construction equipment sales for the April-July period stood at 1,878 machines, up 32.9% from 1,413 units in the year-ago period. The company added that geopolitical developments remain an area to watch as they could impact market sentiment, commodity costs and overall business conditions.
