The reminder comes after Tejashwi Yadav claimed that his name was missing from the state’s draft voter list, published on August 1. At the press conference, Yadav entered his Elector Photo Identity Card (EPIC) number—RAB2916120—on the Election Commission of India’s (ECI) official portal, claiming it did not return any results.

In response, the ECI dismissed his allegations as “baseless” and shared an extract of the draft roll, which shows Yadav’s name at serial number 416 in polling station number 204 (Library Building of Bihar Animal Science University) under the Digha Assembly constituency. His EPIC number in this record is listed as RAB0456228.
The ERO’s letter noted this discrepancy. “It is to be informed that in the press conference held on 02.08.2025, you told that your name is not mentioned in the draft voter list. After investigation, it was found that your name is mentioned at serial number 416 of polling station number 204 (Library Building of Bihar Animal Science University), whose EPIC number is RAB0456228.”

The ERO further added, “According to you, from the quote of your press conference, your EPIC number is RAB2916120. According to the preliminary investigation, EPIC number RAB2916120 does not appear to be officially issued.”
Adding to the controversy, a local advocate, Rajiv Ranjan, has filed a complaint at the Digha police station, alleging that Tejashwi Yadav possesses two voter ID cards with different numbers. An FIR has not yet been filed in the matter, as per ANI.
