Anand Deverakonda and Vaishnavi Chaitanya’s Epic – First Semester is reportedly heading toward its digital premiere after its September 11 theatrical release. October 9 has been circulating as a possible OTT date in Netflix, although the streaming platform and date are yet to receive official confirmation from the makers.
Directed by Aditya Haasan, Epic – First Semester marks his feature film debut after 90s became popular among Telugu audiences. Produced by Suryadevara Naga Vamsi and Sai Soujanya under Sithara Entertainments and Fortune Four Cinemas, the youthful romance also stars Sivaji and Vasuki, with music by Hesham Abdul Wahab.
Trade trackers have placed Epic – First Semester’s production budget between ₹9 crore and ₹12 crore. The film opened at around ₹2.10 crore India net, while available trackers estimate its worldwide theatrical gross at around ₹10 – 11 crore with 5-6 crores share.
The film’s theatrical run remained below the commercial expectations surrounding the blockbuster Baby combination. Its OTT arrival could provide a fresh opportunity to reach viewers who missed its theatrical run, particularly audiences outside Telugu-speaking markets. An official announcement from the makers is awaited regarding the streaming partner and exact digital premiere date.
