India are all set to tour England for a white ball tour in the upcoming month. There is plenty of excitement among fans who are set to witness some quality cricket during this time.
India will tour for eight white-ball games from July 1 to 19, with five T20Is and three ODIs set to be played. The three evening games in the five-match T20I series were initially scheduled to begin at 11 PM IST (6.30pm local time) as announced by the ECB last year, but have since been brought forward to 10 PM IST (5.30pm local time) after discussions with broadcasters.
The start times for England’s home internationals are usually finalized after consultation between the ECB, venues, opposition boards, and domestic and overseas broadcasters. When it comes to this case it is Sky Sports (England) and the Sony Sports Network (India). The change in start times from the 6.30pm slot to 5:30 pm which has become standard in recent seasons, underlines English cricket’s reliance on high-value broadcast series that feature India. The ECB is projected to register a profit this year due to India’s tour. This was laid bare in the ECB’s recently published financial report.
Tickets sold out for India tour of England
This is one of the marquee tours in the international summer for England and the tickets for India’s tour to England went on sale late last year and all three ODIs have been sold out, and there are only a few hundred tickets still available across the five T20Is. This shows that there is plenty of interest among fans and we are set to witness a packed house in every match of the tour.
