INS Androth is the second anti -submarine warfare shallow water craft of the Indian Navy.
The Indian Navy has got the new submarine warship (Anti Submarine Warfare Shailo Water Craft) and Androth. Through this, the capacity of the Indian Air Force to deal with the dangers in the coastal sea will increase. The specialty of Androth is that more than 80 percent of it is indigenous. It has been constructed in GRSE Kolkata. This is the second anti -submarine warfare shallow water craft of the Indian Navy. On this excuse, let us know how much submarine does the Indian Navy has and how high is it?
In order to secure its borders in the sea, India is constantly meeting the needs of the Navy and is insisting on making it hitech. The real reason for this is the neighboring countries China and Pakistan. Especially due to China, it is a challenge to protect its marine borders in front of India. Keeping this in mind, India is not only increasing the fleet of its warships, but is also paying special attention to submarine.
The country currently has about 17 submarines. Of these, 15 submarine are traditional fuel capacity. They are operated using diesel or electric fuel. Apart from this, India also have two nuclear submarines. India is continuously increasing the number of these submarines and by the year 2027, the Indian Navy plans to increase their number 24.

The specialty of Androth is that more than 80 percent of it is indigenous.
How many types of submarines?
1- Submarine of Sindhghosh category
The traditional submarine of the Indian Navy is based on the Diesel or Electric Submarine of the Sindhghosh category. Along with this, the Indian Navy also has submarines of Scorpene category. Through them, India monitors its maritime borders. The submarines of the Sindhghosh category are actually submarine of kur category. They were built under Project 877 with the help of Russia.
They are named Sanskrit in the Indian Navy. These submarines are mainly equipped with Torpedo and Club/3M-54E anti-ship cruise missiles. These submarine can remain in the sea for 45 consecutive days and there is no need to come to the surface. In these, a team of 53 people can live together. Its speed within the sea is up to 18 knots.

INS Vela is a diesel-electric attack submarine of Scorpene Class.
2-Scorpened class submarine
The sixth submarine of the Scorpene class in the Indian Navy has been included in the Indian Navy on 9 January 2025. It is built by the Indian submarine manufacturer Mazagon Dock Shipbuilders Limited (MDL) with the help of French Shipbuilder Group. This is part of the P-75 project. This traditional submarine of 2000 tons has been designed for all types of missions such as Surface Wastra Warfare, Anti Submarine Warfare, Long Range Strikes, Special Operations and Intelligence. This submarine prepared under the Make in India Policy is 67.5 meters long. Its height is 12.3 meters and is equipped with 360 battery cells.
Atomic submarines
The Indian Navy also has two nuclear submarines (nuclear submarines). They are capable of eliminating enemies under any circumstances. INS Arihant and INS Arikha’s atomic submarines, called INS Arihakh, can live under the sea for a long time, as they operate with nuclear power.
In such a situation, they do not have to come to the surface repeatedly for fuel. These submarines are equipped with ballistic missiles besides traditional weapons. Work is also going on to make six more nuclear submarines for the Indian Navy.

INS Ariya is the nuclear submarine of the Indian Navy that can live under the sea for a long time.
INS Arihanty more than INS Arihant
INS Arihant was the first nuclear submarine, which was included in the Indian Navy. This is followed by INS Ariha which is more capable than INS Arihant. Along with long -range missiles, high quality indigenous goods have also been added to INS Arikhi.
INS Arikha is equipped with missiles, from which the target can be stunned up to more than 3500 km distance. At the same time, the target can be attacked for a distance of about 750 km from the earlier atomic submarine INS Arihant.
India included in select countries of the world
India is one of the selected countries in the world that have nuclear submarines. Apart from India, countries that have nuclear submarines include the names of Britain, France and China along with the US and Russia. Actually, not every country has the technique of making nuclear submarines. The US first created a nuclear submarine in the year 1954. Since then, this technology has been able to develop only five countries besides America, of which India is also. It was the US who gave its technology to the nuclear submarine to Britain.
The greatest feature of atomic submarines is their bottomless fuel store. Actually, these submarines with atomic reactors are operated with nuclear power. Therefore, months can keep an eye on the enemy by staying in water under the sea.
