According to trade reports from Sacnilk, the film earned Rs 6 crore on its third day, taking its total domestic net collection to an impressive Rs 22.75 crore.
Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat box office collection Day 3
Released alongside Ayushmann Khurrana and Rashmika Mandanna’s high-budget horror-comedy Thamma, Milap Milan Zaveri’s romantic drama has shown remarkable resilience at the ticket window. While Thamma collected Rs 55.1 crore in the same period, it did so with nearly double the screen count. In comparison, Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat has emerged as the dark horse of the Diwali box office, performing exceptionally well with limited resources.
Interestingly, the film’s three-day total has already surpassed that of Dharma Productions’ Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari, starring Varun Dhawan and Janhvi Kapoor, which managed Rs 22.25 crore in its first weekend. It has also outperformed Maddock Films’ Param Sundari, another Janhvi-starrer, which earned Rs 26.75 crore over its opening days.

On its third day, Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat recorded an overall Hindi occupancy rate of 25.14%, higher than Thamma’s 19.38%. The film saw steady growth throughout the day — from 9.99% in morning shows to 31.98% during evening and night screenings. Major cities such as Mumbai (26.50%) and Delhi-NCR (24.75%) reported healthy turnouts, while Tier-2 cities like Lucknow (37.50%) and Jaipur (31.00%) posted even stronger numbers.
The romantic drama, currently screening across 2,400 shows in India, less than half of Thamma’s 5,700, has benefited from strong word-of-mouth and repeat audiences. Viewers have praised Harshvardhan Rane and Sonam Bajwa’s on-screen chemistry, calling the film an emotional yet refreshing take on classic romance.
Harshvardhan Rane’s growing popularity boosts the film
Trade analysts believe that one major reason behind the film’s success is Harshvardhan Rane’s increasing fan base. His 2016 film Sanam Teri Kasam has gained cult status over the years, with its recent re-release outperforming several mainstream titles. The emotional intensity and old-school romantic charm of Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat seem to have tapped into a similar audience base that craves heartfelt, nostalgic storytelling.
Director Milap Milan Zaveri appears to have struck a winning formula by combining contemporary visuals with classic melodrama. With strong word-of-mouth and steady growth, the film is expected to cross the Rs 30 crore mark by the end of its opening week.
