Indian languages education: Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan recently said that the Center is not imposing any language on any state. He also said that those who are accusing the Center about three language policy are only politically motivated. Pradhan said that two language sources will be applicable in classes 1 and 2. It will have a language mother tongue. For example, it will be the Tamil language in Tamil Nadu. Second language students can choose from their choice. He insisted that the government is not imposing any language on any state.
What is three language policy in schools?
Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan explained in detail that three language sources will be applicable from class 6 to 10. It will have a language mother tongue and students can choose the remaining two languages from their choice. He also said that this policy is already being implemented in many states, even in BJP ruled states. For example, students in Uttar Pradesh will learn their mother tongue Hindi. After this, they can choose languages like Marathi and Tamil as the third language. The UP government will have to provide the facility to teach Tamil.
English speaks only 10 percent of the country’s population
Pradhan also said that only 10 percent of the population of the country speaks English, the rest of the people like education and dialogue in their mother tongue. Citing the example of Andhra Pradesh CM N Chandrababu Naidu, he said that the more languages students learn, the more they will become competitive.
Warning to those connecting language dispute with politics
Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan said, language is always an accessory tool. Those who have politically narrow views are causing problems. Referring to his tour of Tamil Nadu, he said that he himself is Odia and is proud of his language, but he also respects other languages of India. He clarified that those who want to create partitions in the society in the name of language have failed. The society has moved beyond this.

This is said on the overall education campaign and funding
Pradhan said that Tamil Nadu not issued funds under Samagra Shiksha Abhiyan, that the state government will have to accept MOU. He said that it is necessary to follow the policies of the Center and it is not right to impose political priorities on students. He also said that Tamil Nadu is getting adequate funds for many schemes like mid -day meal every year. Referring to the recent meeting with State Education Minister Anubil Mahesh Poyyamozhi and DMK MP Kanimozhi, he assured that the Center is ready to fully cooperate on the issue of Right to Education.
