This document presented in Parliament is called Economic Survey. In this, the Central Government has said that the rural areas of the country are progressing and the rural economy is getting strengthened. In the Economic Survey, the government has estimated the GDP growth for the financial year 2027 to be between 6.8% to 7.2%. In the current situation of global tension, it is considered better. Along with this, the government has also given complete details of the work done in rural areas.

The government says that now rural India is no longer just a beneficiary of government schemes, but has become an essential and strong part of the country’s economy. According to NABARD’s Rural Economic Situation and Sentiment Survey, 79.2% rural households have expressed confidence. At the same time, 67% of the monthly income of rural families is being spent on consumption, which clearly shows the strong potential of the rural market.

From Lakhpati Didi to G-Ram G

While discussing the rural economy, the government has also mentioned its plans. According to the government, through the Lakhpati Didi scheme, women associated with self-help groups (SHGs) were given money and work skills, so that they can earn self-reliant income. Along with Lakhpati Didi, G-Ram G reforms have taken MGNREGA from just a wage scheme to a future plan for employment and skill development. At the same time, PM-JANMAN scheme has been launched especially for extremely backward tribal groups (PVTGs), so that they can get equality and justice.

It has also been told in the Economic Survey that increasing shopping in rural areas is an indication that the economy of villages is becoming self-reliant. Rural development is no longer limited to just earning money, but also includes strengthening human potential through better health and education.
