ECI Press Conference 17 August: Election Commission (ECI) will hold a press conference in Delhi on August 17. This will be the first press briefing after Bihar Sir Exercise and Rahul Gandhi’s Vote Theft Allegations.

ECI Press Conference 17 August: Election Commission of India announced on Saturday that it will hold a press conference in the national capital Delhi on Sunday, 17 August 2025 at 3 pm. This press conference will be held on National Media Center Raisina Road. In fact, the election agency has been active after Rahul Gandhi’s vote theft allegations and 65 lakh names in the Bihar Voter list again. The Supreme Court gave a clear order to the Commission to publish all the 65 lakh names on its website before Tuesday and also give the reason for the name being cut in front of their names. Rebuating the Commission, the court had also said that every person can find their name easily so that there should be a provision of search from the epic number and not to upload a PDF file.

First press conference after Bihar Sir

This will be the first press conference of the Election Commission which is being organized after special intensive revision of the voter list in Bihar. The Commission has said that only a journalist and cameraperson recognized by PIB (Press Information Bureau) will get admission.

This press conference is taking place when Congress leader Rahul Gandhi is going to start ‘Voter Adhikar Yatra’ before the Bihar assembly elections. Gandhi has appealed to join people, calling it a “mass movement”.

ECI cleaning amid allegations of vote theft?

The press conference is being held after serious allegations of the opposition in which the Election Commission has been accused of vote theft. On August 1, Rahul Gandhi said in a press conference that the Congress has an open-end-prone proof that the Election Commission is involved in vote theft and its benefit is being transported to the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).

On August 7, Rahul Gandhi accused 100250 votes theft (Vote Chori) citing Mahadevpura Assembly in Karnataka at another press conference. He said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi (PM Modi) got power for the third time due to the connivance of the Election Commission and BJP.

Rahul Gandhi took a dig at the Election Commission and said that elections in India are choreographed. In his statement on Friday, he reiterated that the people involved in the vote theft scam will definitely get punishment and the truth will be revealed to everyone as the time changes.
