Eberechi Eze to perform Cristiano Ronaldo-inspired celebration after losing to IShowSpeed

Eberechi Eze will celebrate his next goal with a routine chosen by YouTuber IShowSpeed, after the Arsenal forward lost a best-of-three EA Sports FC contest to the influencer.

Speed, a 21-year-old streamer with 61.7 million YouTube subscribers, came out on top in the showdown.

The celebration Eze must now perform combines Cristiano Ronaldo’s trademark “siuuu” ritual with the streamer’s signature bark, plus a badge tap and a knee lift.

The decider saw Eze finally play with his own team, Arsenal, having chosen Paris St Germain for the opening match. That first-game pick prompted Speed to question why Eze had not gone with Arsenal.

“I ride or die for my team, but on FIFA?” Eze replied. “I’m not sure about that.”

Speed, playing as Bayern Munich, settled the contest with a dramatic late winner in the decider, scored by ex-Tottenham man Harry Kane.

Speed’s first suggestion for the forfeit was his own cross-arms celebration followed by twerking.

Eze rejected that combination, laughing and saying: “I won’t lie to you, that bounce thing is berserk.”

Option two was a backflip, but Eze revealed he did not know how to do one. The pair therefore settled on the Ronaldo-inspired celebration.

IShowSpeed is a Ronaldo super-fan, who has regularly been at matches to cheer him on. The Portuguese forward has been in the headlines once again in recent weeks after walking away from the national team due to a bust-up with manager Jorge Jesus.

Ronaldo issued a statement of almost 2,000 words last week explaining why he chose to leave, as he said there had been a “breach of trust” between him and Jorge Jesus.

The Portuguese FA subsequently provisionally suspended Ronaldo in the wake of his walk-out.

A statement released over the weekend read: “Disciplinary proceedings were initiated against Cristiano Ronaldo, by decision of the non-professional section, on October 9, 2026, with the objective of ascertaining the potential disciplinary relevance of the facts reported on October 7, 2026.

“Without prejudice to the automatic preventive suspension to which he was subject until the date of initiation, a non-automatic preventive suspension of the player was determined, and the proceedings were given urgent status.

“The proceedings were sent, on October 10, 2026, to the disciplinary instruction committee of the FPF (Portuguese Football Federation), with publicity excluded until the end of the investigation.”
