The video of Maharashtra Minister Narhari Jirwal with a transgender at his government bungalow has gone viral, creating a huge controversy. After this incident, opposition parties are demanding his resignation.
Mumbai: A shocking incident has created an uproar in the politics of Maharashtra. State Food and Civil Supplies Minister and NCP leader Narhari Jirwal is embroiled in a major controversy. A video of him with a transgender at a government bungalow has gone viral on social media. After this, the opposition alliance Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) has demanded his immediate resignation.
This is the second major setback for Jirwal in two months. Recently, an FDA clerk was caught red-handed by the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) while taking a bribe of Rs 35,000 in the ministry (state secretariat). Girwal has not yet given any statement on this video controversy. But, it is being said that he has given clarification in this regard to Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and Deputy Chief Minister and NCP President Sunetra Pawar.
Suspicion of political background and old enmity
66-year-old Jirwal is a four-time MLA from Dindori in Nashik district and has also been a former deputy speaker of the assembly. He was considered close to late Ajit Pawar. Tribal leader Jirwal was the first person who raised his voice for making Sunetra Pawar the Deputy Chief Minister and NCP President after the untimely demise of Ajit Pawar. Sources say that after the death of Ajit Pawar, the internal fights of NCP could be the reason for this video leak. However, whether the video is genuine or not has not been confirmed yet.
Who is the transgender seen in the video?
The transgender seen in the video has been identified as Pawan Yadav. According to his brother and lawyer Ravi Yadav, Pawan has a long record of making videos by framing people and then extorting money by blackmailing them.

Opposition attack, pressure to resign
Sanjay Raut of Shiv Sena (UBT) taunted, “Everyone knows who Jirwal is. I will not say much on this, it is shameful.” Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Priyanka Chaturvedi said, “After the Ashok Kharat scam, now the scandal of another senior NCP minister has come to light. Maharashtra was once known for its intellectual leadership, but now the Mahayuti government is becoming famous for obscenity and distortions.”
Congress President Harsh Vardhan Sapkal said, “Such unethical behavior by a representative who is in charge of public trust and taxpayers’ money is condemnable. This is proof of the moral decline in Maharashtra politics. The Chief Minister should immediately accept Girwal’s resignation.” Meanwhile, NCP (SP) leader Jayant Patil refused to comment saying he did not have complete information about the matter.
