And similar is the story of 19 year old cricketer Ashutosh Mahida, who is currently playing in the Under 19 Tri Series. Ashutosh Mahida is a part of Under 19 India A team in this series. However, Ashutosh would not have reached this far if he had succumbed to difficulties. Corona had snatched away their livelihood from them. The circumstances of the family became such that they were forced to sell vegetables to earn their living. But, even in those adverse circumstances, he did not give up his dream of becoming a cricketer.
When the mountain of troubles broke, the vegetables were sold.
Ashutosh Mahida’s father Chirag Mahida was a choreographer. Everything was going well in the family. But, then Corona took away his father’s job from him. And, he was forced to sell vegetables to feed his family. Ashutosh Mahida also helped his father in this difficult time. However, Ashutosh’s father never wanted his son to leave cricket. The father inspired his son to keep playing cricket even in his difficult times.
Things changed as soon as the bad times passed
Ashutosh Mahida told all these things while talking to Times of India. He said that those were very difficult times. But he never left cricket. Mahida said that with the changing times our circumstances changed again. My father started choreography again.
Playing international tournament for the first time
Ashutosh Mahida participated in Vijay Mergent Trophy and Under 19 Cooch Vihar Trophy in 2024 and took 16 wickets in 5 matches played there. According to Ashutosh, Under 19 Tri Series is his first international tournament. Apart from Under 19 India A and Under 19 India B team, the third team in this tournament is Afghanistan.
dominated in the very first match
Ashutosh Mahida made an important contribution to his team’s victory in the very first match of the tournament. In the first match of Under-19 Tri Series played on 17 November, India A defeated India B by 37 runs in which fast bowler Ashutosh Mahida took 2 wickets for 33 runs in 9 overs.
