Kanpur Robbery Case: The news of the robbery of the bride and groom returning from a wedding procession in Kanpur Dehat created a sensation. The bride first accused him of looting the jewellery, but after a few hours both of them retracted their statement. Now the whole matter is under discussion.
A case came to light from Kanpur village of Uttar Pradesh which first created a sensation in the entire area and then within a few hours also raised questions. The news spread rapidly on social media that miscreants surrounded the car of the bride and groom returning from the wedding procession and even looted the bride’s jewelery and the groom’s ring.
As soon as this news came out, there was a stir in the area. The police also immediately became active and started investigating the matter. But by night there was a twist in the story which changed the entire sequence of events.
Accused of chasing a car on the road
According to initial information, the bride and groom were returning to their home after leaving the marriage procession. Meanwhile, some people started chasing his car. It was alleged that attempts were made to stop the car by overtaking several times and ultimately the car was surrounded. It was told that as soon as the car stopped, the driver was taken out and beaten up. After this incident, the bride and groom became very nervous and went straight to the police station.

The bride had accused him of stealing jewellery.
After the incident, the bride cried and alleged that about six to eight people had followed the car. He said that after stopping the car, first the driver was beaten and when the groom came to intervene, he was also surrounded. The bride had told that during this time the jewelery from her ears, nose and hands were removed and the groom’s ring was also snatched. He had also claimed that the attackers were residents of his own village and had also participated in the marriage procession.
The police came into action as soon as they reached the police station
Instead of going straight home, the bride and groom reached Rasulabad police station and told the entire incident to the police. As soon as this information came to light, the police took the matter seriously and started investigation. Inquiries were also started in the surrounding areas and the discussion regarding this incident intensified on social media. Many people called it a major incident that happened in broad daylight.
The entire statement changed after a few hours
However, by night the matter suddenly took a new turn. The same bride and groom, who had earlier said about robbery, later retracted their statement. The bride said that on the way, some people from her husband’s village had stopped the car and assaulted the driver, but they were not robbed in any way.
The groom also told what had happened
The groom also said in his statement to the police that on March 10, 2026, he was returning to his village with a wedding procession from Katka village. Meanwhile, some youths from his own village, who had also gone in the wedding procession, came in front of the vehicle on the way. According to him, during this period only the driver was assaulted. There was no looting or snatching. He said that someone had given wrong information, due to which the matter spread differently.

The incident which was initially being described as a big robbery, came to light in a different form after a few hours. The police are now investigating the entire matter and trying to find out how the news of the robbery initially spread.
