New Hyundai i20 fourth generation launched in Brazil: crossover design, twin 12.3-inch screens, ADAS, 1.0 turbo engine, starting price BRL 99,990 around Rs 18.77 lakh.
Bold new look
Hyundai i20 2026 has launched in Brazil with a significantly bolder design. It measures 4,130 mm in length with a 165 mm ground clearance, giving it a crossover-style stance. The front gets a full-width light bar, Y-shaped LED DRLs, and a muscular bonnet. The rear features C-shaped lights with a connected light bar across the full width.
Twin 12.3-inch screens inside
The cabin gets twin 12.3-inch displays for the instrument cluster and infotainment, along with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. The 5-seater interior offers good legroom and quality materials. Top variants add wireless charging, Bose audio, power-folding mirrors, keyless entry, and connected car technology.
Level 2 ADAS
The new i20 comes with Hyundai SmartSense ADAS covering forward collision avoidance, blind spot collision avoidance, lane keeping assist, and lane following assist. Six airbags are standard, and a 360-degree camera is available on select variants. The K3 platform underneath improves both ride quality and structural safety.
Flex-fuel and turbo engine options
Brazil gets two engine options, a 1.0-litre naturally aspirated unit producing 80 hp with a manual gearbox, and a 1.0-litre turbo producing 115 to 120 hp paired with an automatic. Both support flex-fuel including E100 ethanol. The turbo variant delivers strong mid-range performance and comfortable highway cruising.
Will it come to India?
Brazil-spec i20 starts at BRL 99,990, around Rs 18.77 lakh, significantly more than the current Indian i20 which starts at Rs 6 lakh. Hyundai has not confirmed an India launch for this generation yet. If it does arrive, it is expected to be positioned higher, competing with the Baleno, Altroz, and possibly the lower variants of compact SUVs.
