Delhi Traffic Advisory: The Dwarka Expressway tunnels will be closed to traffic in both directions from 11 PM on Tuesday, August 12, 2025, for maintenance and cleaning work. The closure affects routes from Dwarka towards the airport and Gurugram, as well as from IGI Airport towards Dwarka and Gurugram.

According to Delhi Traffic Police, the shutdown will remain in effect until further notice to allow for scheduled maintenance, cleaning and other infrastructural upgrades. The decision is aimed at ensuring the safety and upkeep of the tunnels, which see heavy daily traffic.

In connection with scheduled maintenance, cleaning & infrastructural works, the Dwarka Expressway Tunnels (both sides) i.e. carriageways towards Airport & Gurugram and vice versa will remain closed from 11:00 PM today, 12.08.2025, until further notice.

Dwarka Expressway Tunnels Closed: Public Advisory
Authorities have advised travellers to plan their journeys in advance, keep extra travel time in hand and follow diversion signs placed at key points. Traffic personnel will be deployed in the area to guide motorists and manage congestion.
Motorists are urged to cooperate with the arrangements to minimise delays and ensure smooth movement along the alternate routes. The police have also appealed to the public to stay updated on the situation through official traffic alerts.

In other advisory, traffic movement on Ring Road from AIIMS to Moolchand was disrupted on Monday after a truck broke down at Andrews Ganj Flyover, Delhi Traffic Police said, advising commuters to plan their travel.
Meanwhile, ahead of Independence Day 2025, Noida Traffic Police announced restrictions on commercial vehicles entering Delhi from Gautam Buddha Nagar. The ban will be in place from 10 pm on August 12 to the end of the rehearsal on August 13, and again from 10 pm on August 14 until the parade ends on August 15. Diversions via the Eastern Peripheral Expressway have been arranged through Chilla, DND, Kalindi Kunj, and Yamuna routes.
