Ravana was born in the clan of Brahma

According to Valmiki Ramayana, Ravana was born in the clan of Lord Brahma, the author of the universe. Rishi Pulastya was the psyche son of Brahma. His wife’s name was Havirbhu. He had 2 sons, whose names were Maharishi Agastya and Vishrava Muni. Maharishi Vishrava had 2 wives, one of whom was named Idvida and the other was Kaikasi. Classes belonged to the demon caste. Ravana, Vibhishan, Kumbhakarna and Shurpanakha were born from Kaikasi’s womb. In this way, Ravana was of Brahmin caste after being born in the family of Brahma.

How did Ravana become the king of demons?

The childhood of Ravana, Vibhishan, Kumbhakarna and Shurpanakha was spent with his mother Kaikasi and Nana Sumali. According to religious texts, Ravana had many wives, among them, Mandodari and Dhanyamalini were prominent. Meghnad was the son of Mandodari, who also defeated Indra, hence a name for Indrajit. Dhanyamalini’s son was Atikaya who was great power. Apart from these, Akshay Kumar, Mahodar, Prahma, Virupaksha, Trishira and Narantak-Devantak etc. were also sons of Ravana.
