This village is situated in the name of Ravana’s father
Local people say that Ravana’s father was a monk named Vishrava. They lived at this place and had this village after him. Later, this name changed to Bisarkh. Ravana and his siblings were also born at this place. Ravana also received education at this place. Therefore, people here consider Ravana as the son of the village.

That is why the burning of effigies of Ravana
It is believed that till many decades ago, every year in this village, effigies of Ravana were burnt on the occasion of Dussehra, but once many people died in an accident. Then the people of the village worshiped Ravana by law and it was decided that the effigies of Ravana would not be burnt anywhere in the village after today. Since then, the tradition of worshiping Ravana’s effigies on Dussehra is being done here.
Ravana established Shivling
It is believed that Dudheshwar Nath Shivalinga situated on the banks of the Hindon River near Birsakh was founded by Ravana himself. At this place Ravana used to worship Lord Shiva. Not only this, during the excavation at this place, many Shivling has been found by the Archaeological Department which is all octagonal. Such a Shivling is not seen at any other place.
People built Ravana’s temple
This village is definitely called the birthplace of Ravana, but till some time ago there was no temple of Ravana here. Later, some people together built a temple of Ravana here with public cooperation. A crowd of devotees throngs here on the occasion of Dussehra. Religious events are also organized here from time to time.
