Duryodhana had told about his mistakes
Duryodhana was most responsible for the destruction of the Kaurava dynasty. Even till the end he chose war instead of peace. Duryodhana died due to following the path of unrighteousness. In the battle between Duryodhana and Bhima, when Bhima broke Duryodhana’s thigh, he was on the verge of death. During this, he told Lord Krishna about his three mistakes by showing three fingers.
This was the meaning of the first finger
Duryodhana told Lord Krishna with his first finger that his biggest mistake was that he had left God and asked for Narayan’s army. He said if I had asked for you I wouldn’t be here.
Told this thing with the other finger
Duryodhana told his second mistake that at the end of the war he obeyed Lord Krishna even though he was an ally of the enemy. The reason behind this was that Duryodhana’s father was blind from birth. When he got married to Gandhari, while fulfilling her husband’s duty, Gandhari blindfolded herself. On the last day of the war, Gandhari told Duryodhana to take a bath in the river and come to her in a naked state, but in the meantime Lord Shri Krishna met her and told Duryodhana that it was not appropriate to go naked in front of the Mother Goddess.
Hearing this, Duryodhana wrapped the leaves of the tree around his thigh. When Gandhari removed the blindfold and looked at Duryodhana, her entire body became like a thunderbolt, only the part of her thigh which Duryodhana had covered with leaves remained weak. Bhima took advantage of this and killed him by attacking his thigh.
This is the third mistake mentioned
Duryodhana said that his third biggest mistake was that he came last in the war. If he had come earlier the situation would have been different.
Lord Krishna folded his fingers
Hearing these words of Duryodhana, Lord Shri Krishna said that you have lost not because of your mistakes but because of following the path of unrighteousness. Now these things have no meaning. Saying this, Lord Krishna bent Duryodhana’s fingers.
