Left-arm spinner Abid Mushtaq (5-39) and the seasoned Arshdeep Singh (3-53) bowled beautifully to give North Zone a first-innings lead of 64 against West Zone on the second day of the Duleep Trophy quarter-final here on Monday.
Starting the day at 31-2 after North had scored 251 in its first essay, West Zone batters were bowled out for 181. Shams Mulani (52 off 94) was the lone half-centurion for West. However, North finished at 107-4 with Mumbai spinners Mulani and sharing the spoils equally.
Meanwhile, Shahbaz Ahmed hit a career best first-class score of 167 and then got three wickets with his left-arm spin as East Zone enforced follow-on on North East Zone. East scored 467 and then bowled out North East for 111.
