Ducati took advantage of a productive official MotoGP test day in Jerez to refine its Desmosedici GP25 – with both factory riders, Francesco Bagnaia and Marc Márquez, taking part.
Team manager Davide Tardozzi explained to the championship’s official website what they focused on: ‘We tested different things with both riders. With Marc, we investigated the front, just to give him more confidence in corner entry, while with Pecco we had to investigate the bike’s balance, as he was not happy over the weekend. We have new parts, mainly a swingarm that we have to test again’.
Having two highly competitive and talented riders both aiming for titles can be a challenge in terms of management. But Tardozzi emphasized Bagnaia and Márquez’s work ethic, noting their ability to collaborate:
– As usual, the riders talk mainly during test days. I think their relationship between helps Gigi [Dall’Igna] and the engineers to develop the bike, and it’s something we appreciate. There was no confidence from other people that this would happen, but we have not only two champions, but also two intelligent guys, and they know that working together speeds up the development of the bike.
