Despite the growing trend of vegetarian alternatives across the UAE, demand for traditional meat consumption is still high, says a report by UAE market research firm Sapiens. The demand for premium meat has increased here, but the demand for chicken is highest. The same trend is in Dubai also.

Chicken dominates the meat market of UAE. Up to 80 percent of it is consumed in the meat market. Its average prices have made it one of the most popular and easily available meats. Nutritionally, it is considered a better, low-fat protein. People are also taking it as an alternative to protein.

The report says, the meat production sector in the UAE is expected to grow by 9.45% annually by 2027, mainly due to the projected increase in the total population and the presence of different cultures. Due to their presence, the demand for Halal meat products has increased in Dubai, Ajman and Sharjah. This is the reason why a large variety of meat is available here.
