Last Monday, two drunken youths stopped a private school bus on Basavanahalli-Vaddarahalli road and alighted a Class 9 student traveling in the bus. According to reports, the incident occurred when the school bus was on its way to drop students in the villages around Kikkeri. The driver himself made a video of this incident.

Case registered, arrest made again

This video was shared by a social media account named ‘Hate Detector’. Action was taken after social media users demanded immediate action against the criminals. The tweet also said that the accused threatened the school bus driver and created fear among the children. Police have confirmed that drunk youths created ruckus in a public place and endangered the safety of students. Mandya District Police and Kikkeri Police said that they have taken cognizance of the viral video, registered a case in the matter and arrested two accused. Officials said such behavior will not be tolerated and strict legal action will be taken. Parents and locals have demanded increased patrolling on rural routes to ensure the safety of children.
