Drone Atmanirbharta: Indian Army drives innovation in production of combat-ready drones

New Delhi: Under the vision of AtmanirbharBharat, the Indian Army is driving indigenous innovation to forge a decisive technological edge. Guided by the mantra “Eagle on Every Arm,” Southern Command has created a robust, in-house ecosystem for design, development, and large-scale production of combat-ready drones, translating the self-reliant vision into battlefield capability.

Harnessing the technical prowess of the Corps of EME and in synergy with India’s MSME partners, the Command’s Drone Hubs are engineering new generation of Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS) optimised for Surveillance, Precision Strike, and Electronic Warfare roles.

Field-tested during Exercise Trishul, these indigenous drones demonstrated exceptional precision, endurance, and mission flexibility under contested combat conditions. Their validation marks a milestone in embedding indigenous technology directly into operational frameworks.

Standing at the forefront of this transformation, Southern Command continues to integrate innovation, indigenous defence industry collaboration, and tactical application, forging a Tech-Enabled, Future-Ready Force poised to dominate across the full spectrum of conflict.
