Teen television actress Drashti Bhanushali has addressed the rumours linking her to the ongoing case involving actor Rohit Chandel. As speculation spread across social media, the 16-year-old issued a public statement distancing herself from the controversy and urging people not to associate her with the investigation.
Rohit Chandel arrested in POCSO case
Rohit Chandel, known for his roles in Pandya Store and Kashibai Bajirao Ballal, was recently arrested by Mumbai Police in connection with allegations of stalking and assaulting a 16-year-old girl. He has been booked under relevant sections of the and the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). The matter remains under investigation.
Following reports of the arrest, several social media users began claiming that Drashti was the minor mentioned in the case. Responding to the speculation, the actress took to her Instagram Stories and appealed to people not to drag her name into the matter.

In her statement, Drashti wrote, “Please don’t drag me into the matter that is currently ongoing. Kindly do not involve or tag me. The judiciary will take its own course, and whatever the truth is, it will emerge through the proper legal process.”
She concluded her note by thanking those who respected her request, making it clear that she did not wish to be associated with the ongoing legal proceedings.
According to the police, the complaint alleges that from multiple phone numbers over a period of time. Investigators further allege that on July 5, he confronted the girl near her residence, verbally abused her, chased her and physically assaulted her following an altercation. Police are examining CCTV footage, recording statements and collecting evidence as part of the probe.
Rohit was produced before a court following his arrest and has been remanded to judicial custody while the investigation continues. Authorities have not publicly disclosed the identity of the complainant, and the allegations are yet to be tested in court.
Drashti’s statement has since been widely shared online, with many fans appreciating her decision to address the rumours directly. By requesting people to refrain from speculation, the young actress reiterated that the matter should be left to the judiciary and that the truth will emerge through the legal process.
