After the promotional activities for his recently released film War 2, which stars Hrithik Roshan alongside him, Jr NTR is now preparing to dive back into the filming of his much-anticipated upcoming project , Dragon.
The action-packed film is being directed by Prashanth Neel, known for his larger-than-life cinematic style. Jr NTR had earlier participated in a brief shooting schedule for Dragon last month but temporarily stepped away from the set to promote War 2.
Jr NTR set to focus on Dragon
Now, Jr NTR is ready to shift his full focus back to Dragon. The film initially began shooting in the scenic landscapes of Kumta in the Uttara Kannada district of Karnataka. This region, located along the picturesque Konkan coast between Mumbai and Mangalore, provided a stunning backdrop for the film’s first schedule. During the ten-day shoot, the production team built expansive factory sets to complement the location. However, due to unpredictable weather conditions in the coastal region, the filmmakers decided against continuing outdoor shoots there.
Jr NTR’s house set built for Rs 15 crore
To maintain the momentum and ensure the quality of the visuals, the team has chosen to recreate several of the film’s sets at Ramoji Film City in Hyderabad. According to a report in Filmfare, one of the most significant sets being constructed is the protagonist’s house, which will feature heavily in the narrative. Per a source familiar with the production, this particular set is being crafted with extreme attention to detail, from carefully chosen colour schemes and curated artefacts to custom-designed wall hangings. The house set alone is estimated to have cost a staggering Rs 15 crore and is expected to be one of the major visual highlights of the film.
Jr NTR’s work front
Jr NTR is currently taking a short break, and he is expected to rejoin the production after the festival of Vinayaka Chaturthi. He will begin filming the next major schedule in the first week of September, which is slated to last a month in Hyderabad. This leg of the shoot will primarily focus on high-octane action sequences.
