Director Prashanth Neel has reportedly begun pre-production work on the much-awaited sequel to Salaar: Part 1 – Ceasefire.
Neel was recently busy with Dragon, his film with Jr NTR. However, regular shooting of the project was halted after Jr NTR underwent shoulder surgery and was advised an extended period of rest.
With the shoot temporarily on hold, Prashanth Neel has reportedly turned his attention back to the Salaar franchise.
He recently met Hombale Films founder Vijay Kiragandur, and the two are said to have started preparations for the next chapter of Salaar, effectively kickstarting pre-production for Salaar 2.
According to social media buzz, a significant portion of the childhood episodes involving the lead characters has already been filmed.
Reports also suggest that nearly 20 percent of the film’s overall shooting may have been completed.
Pictures of Prashanth Neel and Vijay Kiragandur meeting have also been circulating online, further adding to speculation that work on the sequel is gathering momentum.
Salaar 2 is currently expected to arrive in theatres around mid-2029, though an official release date has not yet been announced.
Salaar: Part 1 – Ceasefire, starring Prabhas and Shruti Haasan, was released in 2023 and went on to become a major commercial success at the box office.
