What are the ingredients required?
To make Doodh Pitha, you need 1 cup rice flour, half cup mawa i.e. khoya (about 150 grams), 1 fourth cup powdered sugar (Bura), half cup grated dry coconut, 4 green cardamoms, one spoon chironji, one spoon raisins, 10-12 almonds, 8-10 cashews, same number of pistachios can also be taken. 1 liter milk, 1/3 cup sugar will be required more for milk base. Doodh Pitha Recipe
- Doodh Pitha, made in Bihar and Jharkhand especially during winters, is a very tasty melt-in-the-mouth dessert.
- First heat the water and then knead the rice flour into a soft dough, but it should not be wet.
- Now take out mawa or khoya in a plate and apart from sugar, add some raisins, cashews, almonds, pistachios and cardamom powder to it.
- Save some dry fruits and nuts, chironji, cardamom powder separately. These are later used to add to the milk base.
- Apply desi ghee on your hands and make small balls of rice flour and press it with a spoon to make a space in which add khoya mixture and make round balls (pitha).

- Now heat the milk and add saffron threads or a pinch of yellow food color dissolved in milk.
- Add sugar, grated coconut, saved nuts, raisins, chironji and cardamom powder to the milk. After this let it boil for 1 minute.
- When the milk boils, add the prepared rice flour balls with mawa stuffing into it. Cook the milk until it is properly condensed into a ball.
