Donald Trump: US President Donald Trump has once again made a big claim. He says India’s purchase of Russian oil is further fueling the Ukraine war. However, India has earlier also denied such statements of Trump.
Donald Trump: US President Donald Trump again made a big claim on October 25 that India has almost stopped buying oil from Russia. He said that this decision is an important step towards strengthening the strategic partnership between India and America. While talking to reporters, Trump said that India is continuously reducing the purchase of Russian oil. He also alleged that the Ukraine war is prolonging due to buying oil from Russia. Trump told that for this reason he had imposed 50 percent tariff on India. In recent times, there has been some tension in the trade relations between India and America.
Trump is attending ASEAN summit
Trump is currently on his Asia tour and is attending the ASEAN summit. During this time, when he was asked whether he would talk to Chinese President Xi Jinping on this issue, Trump said, “Maybe I will discuss it. China has already reduced the purchase of Russian oil significantly and India is also going to stop it now. We have imposed new sanctions on Russia.” In fact, Trump had this week announced the imposition of new US sanctions on Russian oil companies Rosneft and Lukoil. This comment of Trump has come at a time when he is soon going to meet Xi Jinping in South Korea. It is believed that this meeting of the two leaders is an important effort towards reducing the ongoing trade tension between America and China.

India will continue buying oil from Russia
After Trump’s claim, sources in the Indian Foreign Ministry have made it clear that India will continue to buy oil from Russia. The ministry says that this is necessary for the country’s energy security and cheap supply. India reiterated that unless there is an official sanction imposed by the United Nations, no country can stop it from purchasing oil from a particular seller. Let us tell you that even before this, Trump has claimed many times that India will stop buying oil from Russia, but statistics show that Russia is still India’s largest crude oil supplier.
