New Delhi: A disturbing incident has come to light from Maharashtra’s Dombivli, where an orphaned young woman was first brutally assaulted by her friend’s family members, and later, a man called in to help allegedly sexually assaulted her.
As per the police, the victim works at a private organisation in Dombivli and has no parents. According to reports, the woman was assaulted by her friend’s family over an alleged false accusation, with the friend’s father also taking part in the attack. After she was seriously injured, the woman wanted to approach the police to file a complaint but had no one to accompany her.
Sought help from man she met on Snapchat
The woman sought help from a young man she had recently connected with on the social media app Snapchat. The accused, identified as Krish Bhoir, offered to take her to the Manpada police station, but instead took her to a secluded spot on the way, where he raped her.
Not just this, the accused also robbed the victim of her money, removed the SIM card from her mobile phone, and fled with the device, leaving her completely hapless.
Mustering courage, the victim somehow reached the central office of the Shiv Sena (Shinde faction) and sought help. Taking the matter seriously, MLA Rajesh More sent members of the Shiv Sena Mahila Aghadi to accompany her to the police station.
‘Accused may have committed similar offences’
The police promptly lodged a case and initiated action. The probe was handed over to officer Sampat Phadol and his team, who acted swiftly and arrested the accused, Krish Bhoir, within an hour.
Police suspect the accused may have committed similar offences in the past, and the investigation is also proceeding on that angle. Further inquiry in the case is being conducted by woman police officer Priyanka Sadalkar.
For almost eight hours, Shiv Sena office-bearers Kiran Mondkar, Ketki Pawar, Pallavi Indulkar and Lalita Meher remained at the police station and helped the victim throughout the process.
