If there is often pain in your feet or the knees and pain are also increasing in the legs and thumbs of the feet, then it can be a symptom of increasing uric acid. Many diseases are at risk due to increase in uric acid. But to know why it grows in the body and how it can be controlled, we have talked to Dr. Subhash Giri, Director Professor in the Department of Medicine at RML Hospital, Delhi.
Dr. Subhash says that when our food is not good, uric acid starts increasing in the body. It can also be done by eating more protein items and eating more red meat. Dr. Giri says that uric acid is formed when the chemical named purin present in the body is formed. It is a waste product, it keeps coming out of the body through urine, but when we take high protein diet which starts increasing on the kidney and it is unable to remove it completely from the body and it starts accumulating in the blood.
What things increase uric acid repeatedly by eating?
Red meat, mutton, rajma, pulses, cauliflower, mushrooms, pure are more purin. Excessive use of them can also increase uric acid.
Uric acid can also increase with the use of sugar drinks, alcohol, beer.
Due to lack of water in the body, sufficient amount of urine is not made and uric acid is not able to get out of the body.
If there is a complaint of increasing uric acid in a family member, then other members are also feared to have such complaints.

How to control?
Reduce red meat, rajma, cauliflower intake.
Increase the amount of porridge, whole grains, fruits, green vegetables in food.
Dairy products and vitamin C fruits such as lemon oranges are beneficial.
8 to 10 glasses of water should be drunk daily, so that uric acid can get out through urine.
Coconut water, lemonade or gooseberry juice can also be beneficial in the diet.
