Doctor Gopal became the support of the poor

Clinic makes home, home becomes clinic
Dr. Gopal had prepared a small clinic in his residence ‘Lakshmi’. It was here that he used to see patients every day from 4 am to 4 pm. However, in view of increasing age and declining health, he later determined the time from 6 am.
Used to give free medicines to the needy
His service was not stopped here. The patients who did not even have money to buy medicines, Dr. Gopal himself used to give them medicines. He continued to do this work for years without any government help. His service gave him a special place in the hearts of common people.
Clinic closed in May 2024
In May 2024, Dr. Gopal had to close his clinic due to physical weakness. His decision had to face a lot of trouble for the poor patients of the area, because this was the only source of cheap and reliable medicine.
CM Vijayan expressed grief
Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan expressed deep grief over the demise of Dr. Gopal, famous by the name of ‘doctor’. He said, ‘Dr. Gopal served for just two rupees for the last 50 years. His selfless spirit gave relief to thousands of needy. The Chief Minister called him a true servant of society.
Funeral performed in Payymbalam
The funeral of Dr. Gopal was performed in the presence of his family and hundreds of condolences in Payamambalam on Sunday afternoon. A large number of people gathered to pay tribute to him, whose life he made his life better than his service.
