Rakhi rules
A thread of Rakhi is not only a symbol of the relationship, but also a resolve to protect and prosperity of the brother. But do you know that if some special rules are violated on Rakshabandhan, it can also have an adverse effect? Yes, it has been clearly stated in the scriptures that if some things are not taken care of on Rakshabandhan, then that auspicious festival can also become inauspicious.
This time Rakshabandhan is falling on 9 August in 2025. According to astrology, if a rakhi is tied according to the right method, direction and time on this day, then it does not only remain a cord tied on the brother’s wrist, it becomes an invisible shield, which protects it from every evil of life. That is why this festival should be celebrated with full devotion.
Rakshabandhan date and auspicious time
According to the Hindu calendar, there will be Shravan Purnima on August 9 and Rakshabandhan will be celebrated on this day.
Shravan Purnima starts – August 8 at 2:12 pm
Shravan Purnima ends – August 9 at 1:24 pm
Auspicious time to tie rakhi- 5:47 am to 1:24 pm
This time there is no effect of Bhadrakal, that is, you can feel free to tie a rakhi in auspicious time.
Do not make these mistakes on Rakshabandhan
Rakhi rakhi tie
In the scriptures, Rahukaal is considered inauspicious time, during this time it is advisable to postpone any auspicious work. On August 9, Rahukaal will be from 09 am to 10.30 am. Tie rakhi during this time is not considered appropriate. Therefore, one and a half hours should be abandoned from the auspicious time.
Tie
Take a bath in the morning and worship first, tie a rakhi to God and offer bhog and then tie a rakhi to the brother. It is unfair to tie a rakhi directly to the brother.
Pooja plate incomplete
The plate must have lamps, roli, akshat, sweets, rakhi and some water or sandalwood. Worship is considered incomplete without these materials. This is not just a tradition, but a powerful rite.
Disintegration
While tying the rakhi, make the brother sit towards the north or east direction. It is forbidden to face the south direction. Both Vastu and theology believe that the face should be in the east or north direction at the time of worship. This makes the flow of energy positive and the fruits of worship are complete.
Black Rakhi Tie.,dressed in black
Black color is considered prohibited in religious works. On the day of Rakshabandhan, both siblings should wear light and auspicious colors like yellow, orange or white.
Tie
Give sweets or some gifts with rakhi. In the scriptures, it has been called ‘Purti’, which fulfills the effect of Raksha Sutra.
This time the festival of Rakshabandhan is falling in a very auspicious yoga. There is no Bhadra and Muhurta is also open from morning to noon. Just avoid Rahukaal, tie a rakhi methodically and strengthen this relationship of brother and sister with affection and blessings.
