Wrong food combination can harm the digestive system and increase problems like gas, belching, acidity.

Never eat radish with these 5 things

Combination of radish and milk: According to Ayurveda, radish and milk should never be eaten together. Radish is a gas producing vegetable, whereas milk is a cold and heavy thing. When these two meet in the stomach, they put pressure on the digestive system and create toxins in the body. This can cause problems like stomach ache, flatulence, belching and vomiting. Therefore, consume milk or dairy products at least 2 hours after eating radish.

Eating radish and jaggery together: In many areas of India, people eat jaggery with radish paratha, but this combination is not good for health. Radish is cold in nature while jaggery is hot. This imbalance in the temperatures of both increases the problem of acidity and gas. Also, the fiber present in radish due to jaggery makes it difficult to digest, due to which the stomach feels heavy.

Do not eat radish and fish together: In Ayurveda, eating radish and fish together is strictly prohibited. The qualities of both are opposite to each other. Radish increases vata i.e. gas in the body, while fish is hot in nature. Consuming these together can cause skin diseases, bile imbalance and digestive disturbances. If you eat fish, consume radish only after at least 5 to 6 hours.

Do not eat radish and citrus fruits: Radish can already increase gas and acidity in the body. If it is eaten with citrus fruits like orange, lemon or guava, it produces an even more acidic reaction. Its effect falls directly on the stomach and intestines, causing burning sensation, belching and gas in the stomach. Therefore, do not eat any sour fruit immediately after eating radish.

Consumption of radish and honey: The combination of radish and honey is also considered harmful. Radish cools the body, while honey has a warming effect. The opposite properties of both unbalance the digestive juices of the body and can cause inflammation or infection in the intestines. It is better to consume honey at least 3 hours after eating radish.
