Diwali of Satyayuga, appearance of Goddess Lakshmi
The beginning of Diwali is said to be related to the churning of the ocean that took place in Satyayuga. The gods and demons together churned this ocean. Many divine treasures were obtained from this churning of the ocean. On the Trayodashi date of Krishna Paksha of Kartik month, Lord Dhanvantari appeared with an urn of nectar. Dhanteras is celebrated on this day. The five-day festival of Diwali begins from this day. After this, during the churning of the ocean, Goddess Lakshmi, the goddess of wealth and prosperity, appeared. After this, all the gods celebrated the first Diwali by lighting lamps to welcome him.
Diwali of Treta Yuga
Treta Yuga is recognized by the name of Lord Shri Ram. When Lord Rama returned to Ayodhya after spending fourteen years in exile and killing Lankapati Ravana, the entire city was punished. Lamps were lit at various places. In this way the first Diwali of Treta Yuga was celebrated. Also this festival became a symbol of light over darkness.
Diwali of Dwapar Yuga
In Dwapar Yuga, a day before the festival of lights, on Roop Chaudas, Lord Shri Krishna killed the tyrant Narakasura. Therefore this day is also called Narak Chaturdashi. The next day, people celebrated by lighting lamps in Dwarka and Mathura to celebrate the killing of Narakasura.
