How long will Karthik Amavasya Tithi last?
This time the Amavasya date of Kartik month will start from October 20, Monday afternoon at 03:45 and the next day i.e. October 21, Tuesday evening, on Tuesday evening, it will be up to 54 minutes on Tuesday evening. According to Jyotishacharya Pt. Sharma, it is important to worship Goddess Lakshmi on Diwali in Pradosh Kaal i.e. in the evening and night. Kartik Amavasya Tithi will start from 03.45 pm on Monday, October 20, which will be the whole night. That is, it will be best to worship Diwali on October 20. Therefore, celebrating Diwali festival on this day is scripture.
If there is Amavasya for 2 days, when to celebrate Diwali?
According to the Decision Indus and Dharma Indus Granth, whenever the coincidence of Kartik Amavasya is made for 2 days, Diwali festival should be celebrated on the day when the coincidence of Amavasya is made in the evening and night, it is auspicious to worship Lakshmi on the same day. This situation is being created on Monday, 21 October. Therefore, this date is correct to celebrate Deepawali.
Diwali festival will be celebrated for 6 days
Due to Kartik Amavasya Tithi 2 days, Diwali festival will be held on 5 days but 6 days. Because on the second day of Diwali, the festival of Govardhan Puja will be celebrated on its next day i.e. 22 October, Wednesday. This time Dhanteras on 18 October, Roop Chaturdashi on 19 October, Diwali on 20 October, bathing on 21 October, Govardhan Puja on 22 October and Bhai Dooj on 23 October will be celebrated.
